Has anyone the supplement Resveratrol?

If so how long did you take it before you saw results i.e. lower blood pressure, more energy, weight loss or a more youthfull appearance?

If you’ve not tried it or never heard of it, lets save the answers for those who have. Thanks

Studies have shown resveratrol to have antioxidant properties, as well as cardiovascular and endocrine benefits in animals.

There are lots of testis, which suggest that it does definately AID in losing weight and staying healthy.

there is a free trial available for resveratrol, you may want to read more here before going for it.

L-Theanine 8mg: A water soluble amino acid found in green tea and in mushrooms. In-vitro and animal studies suggest that L-Theanine may also be helpful with weight loss.

Other Ingredients: Vegetable Capsules (Cellulose, Water)

The Main ingredients are red grapes, drink red grape juice and red, black berries.

Is Resveratrol safe to take as a supplement?

..and can i get large amounts from drinking grape juice/red wine?

Taking too much wine will overcome the positive effects with ethanol damage. And grape juice doesn’t work – resveratrol is relatively confined to the skin of the grape. Thus… Its safe as a supplement, and you can find it (maybe at bodybuilding.com or what not) on the web, but its expensive – unless you’re already an athelete, and are taking it not for the heart help but for the endurance boost, then I’d say just work out a little – it’ll go further.

Has anyone heard of the soy isoflavone and resveratrol diet from Women’s World Magazine?

I just read an article in my Women’s World magazine that discussed by taking a soy isoflavone supplement along with a resveratrol supplement together, they actually make fat cells "self-destruct". The women in the article claimed to have lost up to 15 lbs in one week. Now I know this may not sound healthy, but both of these supplements are antioxidants so they can’t be bad for you. I was just curious to see if anyone has tried this diet and does it work? I am already eating a low calorie, high fiber diet and exercising regularly but would like to add something to help me progress a little quicker. Any advice?

I have been doing it since Friday. I have found NO diffrence at all. I was all pumped and nothing. I am not following the diet they recomended tho, so that might have something to do with it. I am eating healthy, just not what they said. I didn’t take it this morning, so I am going to see if there is a difference without it. The grape resveratrol was 20 dollars alone. So I would keep looking into it before you try it.

The "skinny" on Resveratrol?

The big question about Resveratrol pills is whether they work. For that matter, what kind of "work" do they do? The high-quality Resveratrol supplements are expensive. Before I pay that much money I need to have scientific evidence that the benefits are worth the cost.

Okay, Resveratrol contains anti-oxidants. So what? It’s got to offer more than that because so do all fruits and vegetables, which are much less expensive. I’m not interested in "testimonials" on websites that sell the product. I’m not interested in the unsupported opinions of Oprah and Dr. Oz. I want to see results of properly conducted, unbiased studies on humans (not mice).

So my question is: Can anyone point me to such studies? For all the buzz about Resveratrol I can’t seem to find any! Are studies underway but not completed yet?
This is my first time on Yahoo Answers and I’m surprised at the quick responses!

Oldtimer, I glanced at some of the studies you pointed to. It seems that most of the human studies deal with specific diseases, such as heart disease and diabetes. That’s fine as far as it goes. Maybe I should clarify my question as: What can an average, healthy human adult expect to get from taking a commercially available (OTC) form of Resveratrol? Are there any studies that have looked at this?

Actually, yes. There are 135 listings at PubMed, which you can find at http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez (just type Resveratrol into the search at the top). There is a lot of good information about those studies there and you can see the doctors and researchers listed on each one to verify each of them.

Also, yes, Resveratrol is an antioxidant, but it’s a much higher potency antioxidant than most fruits on the market… it would be like comparing a grape to a watermelon in most cases. Resveratrol also has benefits for heart health that most fruits don’t have and is actually one of the constituents of Red Wine that help heart health.
I hope I helped!

Does anyone else know anything about the supplement resveratrol?

I have been taking it for about four months, and would like to know what others have experienced with it, as well as any other input anyone can provide. Thanks!

Resveratrol is an antioxidant that could also be commonly found in wine. So far, by taking resveratrol for about a year now, I’ve noticed lesser wrinkles and smoother skin. I’ve also noticed that I feel more energetic at work. I am personally using this brand of supplement. http://www.slideshare.net/janetmoeller/x3-resveratrol-review-benefits-of-red-wine

Buy Resveratrol Supplements?

What is the best resveratrol supplement to buy? There are so many choices on the market….

The best resveratrol supplement on the market is without a doubt Resjuve. Their supplement contains 4 powerful ingredients (Resveratrol, Acai berry, Pomegranate & Green Tea) all of which are beneficial to the body. Only buy from a reputable suppliers and do not enroll into free trials. Free trials are deceptive marketing tactics to sign you up for very expensive monthly rebills. I personally take Resjuve and I have recommended it to numerous colleagues and friends.

Does RezXtra.com or Resveratrol Xtra work?

I saw an ad on http://rezxtra.net offering a free trial mnus small shipping fee for The Red Wine french paradox Resveratrol Supplement. Has any one tried resveratrol or rezextra ?

I saw a special on 60 minutes, Oprah and Dr Oz has a video on resveratrol as well

I also ordered http://lifecleanse.us as a recommended colon cleanser.

Yes, Resveratrol works in the fact that it’s a fantastic antioxidant that helps with cardiovascular health. You can get it from any health food store (GNC, Whole Foods, etc) and many other places, but I would be careful about online ads for it.

Unfortunately, Resveratrol is one of a few high powered antioxidants that are fads right now and when there is a fad, there are always people and companies that take advantage of that popularity and sell their own piece of it. The unfortunate part is that too many of those people/companies make baseless claims in order to sell their product faster and for higher prices. Good luck and I hope I helped!

Anyone use resveratrol supplement?

Hi yahoo answers… Tell me where I can get this resveratrol supplement .. Is anybody use that resveratrol supplement .. Is that good for health .. Is that really prevent the cancer, blood sugar, inflammatory ..

In general, wines made from grapes of the Pinot Noir and St. Laurent varieties showed the highest level of trans-resveratrol, though no wine or region can yet be said to produce wines with significantly higher resveratrol concentrations than any other wine or region. The trans-resveratrol concentration in forty Tuscan wines ranged from 0.3 to 2.1 mg/L in the 32 red wines tested and had a maximum of 0.1 mg/L in the 8 white wines in the test. Both the cis- and trans-isomers of resveratrol were detected in all tested samples.
